The beauty of the Lotus – a companion on our inner and outer journeys
contents
The experience of meeting

When in Asia As I lived and traveled, the lotus flower appeared before me again and again: at temples, in sacred ponds, in meditation gardens. It always struck me with a special power – as if it reminded me of something that lay deep within me. Since then on our travels and in its teachings, the lotus is a special link for me that connects the beauties we see in the world with the inner purity we all seek.
The source of beauty

What is the beauty of the lotus? Can a flower have a mission?
I believe that everything that is found in Mother Nature can be found in our own nature. I have always admired flowers, but the lotus is particularly inspiring. In addition to its unique beauty, it also seems to suggest that we should not forget that the power of ascension lives within us.
The Beauty of the Lotus – The Message of the Mud
It is exceptionally beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful flower, even though its petals open one by one. But it only grows in muddy mud.
I confess that like the lotus, we must first find and experience the mud—the obstacles of life—in order to grow. The mud tells us that we are all in common: we all face sadness, fear, loneliness, illness, loss, no matter how much we have or what our lives look like.
And yet, this environment provides the breeding ground for us to become wiser, kinder, and more compassionate. Just as the lotus rises from the mud into the light, so too can we open our petals, one by one, in the natural rhythm of development.
The flower of the inner journey

If there were no mud, there would be no lotus. And if there were no obstacles, there would be no progress. The lotus lives within us – and in every journey lies the opportunity to find it.
A Travel4Wellbeing Its mission is precisely this: to remind us that external discoveries and internal experiences reinforce each other.
When we travel the world, we are actually traveling deep into our own hearts. And just as the lotus strives towards the light, so too can we find ourselves returning again and again to purity, to love, to Oneness.
