Azores Islands – How to dress stylishly, even in the wind?
It was in the Azores that I truly learned what it means to glow naturally.
Honestly? The Azores Dressing is like dancing with the wind – unpredictable, refreshing and sometimes hair-raising. You learn to adapt… but not just any way. Because Dressing stylishly doesn't necessarily mean you're always perfect - it means you're authentic. And this is the Travel4Wellbeing heartbeat too: Breathe with nature and let your clothing be an expression of that.
Style doesn't blow away with the wind – if it comes from within

Our September trip to the Azores reminded me again of something I try to live by anyway: Don't dress in roles, dress in stories. And what kind of story is it where one hour of the day is caressed by the humid heat, the next by the wild ocean wind, and sometimes all of this is blessed by rain?
A story where practicality and charm go hand in hand. We are not tourists wandering around in snowmobiles, but we are not runway models either – we are the ones who know how to stay true to ourselves while following the rhythm of nature.
The 5 pillars of Azorean style – as we do it:
1. Layers, but loosely
Leggings can go under a light dress. A loose, transparent long-sleeved top can be worn over a sleeveless one. And if the wind picks up? Do you throw your jacket on? If the sun shines? It can be taken off in one move. Style is not about the number of layers, but about freedom of movement.
2. Colors that live
Earth tones, ocean blue, sunny yellow. Nature's palette inspires, and we are happy to respond to it. Not loud, not pale – live. As are you.
3. In harmony with movement
What's holding you back isn't you. A pair of well-tailored pants, a loose skirt, a twisted scarf in your hair – both stylish and freeIn the Azores, we don't decorate ourselves, we move with the elements.
4. Hair and makeup? Make friends with the wind
The hair straightener is just a joke. The humidity will win anyway. But then you notice that your hair starts to to curl up as your soul smooths out. A little lip balm, a natural cream – that's all it takes. Your smile will be the real highlight.
5. Accessories that tell a story
Your favorite ring that you got at a summer festival. That necklace that a friend gave you. Your scarf that was once caught in a good wind. Don't bring fashion, bring your memories..
Getting dressed = ritual

When I choose what to wear in the morning, not a quick decision – more of an internal attunement. What will the wind be like today? Where will the wind take us? Travel4Wellbeing What kind of touch does my skin crave, what kind of material does my soul crave?
For me, style is no longer about what others think of it – it's about How do I feel about it?And when this aligns with the environment, the magic happens: we become one with the landscape, with each other, with the essence.
What does it mean to you to dress stylishly – even when the wind is blowing?
Share it with us, and if you want to experience what it's like when style doesn't force itself, but flows – join us in the Azores in September.
Freedom isn't just in the suitcase - it lives among the clothes too. And sometimes it arrives in a stray breeze.
